We know that it takes a clever team of people to bring Shakespeare to life such that he reaches audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
This production was clever and engaging. It employed a sense of spectacle and impishness. Commendation must go to Jason Langley, director of the show for his wonderfully roguish sense of fun. He truly brought out the light-hearted side of Shakespeare and turned a wonderful play into a spectacular musical. It was no less than Shakespeare with flair!
Australian Stage - Katie Milne
This As You Like It is a triumph. A strong sense of purpose and credibility permeates the entire cast, led by Jason Langley's direction, making the play fresh and relevant and the production fun and rewarding. It's one of the best productions of the play I can remember.
Diana Simmonds - Stage Noise
William Shakespeare's 'As You Like It' at the Cleveland Street Theatre is a richly entertaining and romantic production of one of the Bard's great comedies.
With director Jason Langley's vibrant setting of the play in the 1960's featuring a rich soundtrack of sixties music, this is a vibrant night in the theatre.
