Director Jason Langley was a smart choice by the producers. His expertise in musical theatre is matched by an insightful approach to actors. He draws intelligently detailed performances from each as they bring to life historical characters as well as composites of the war and its people.
Hello Girls is a fabulous show. It has it all: breathtaking harmonies, scintillating performances, astonishing stories, humour, poignancy, and a huge heart. Recommended without reservation.
Diana Simmonds – Stage Noise
It’s refreshing to see a local company take on a relatively unknown musical then bat it out of the ball-park with a brilliant production.
Heartstrings Theatre Co achieved a master-stroke by securing the services of director, Jason Langley, who delivered an imaginative, intelligent production which showcases the individual talents of this accomplished cast.
The result is an outstanding production of a warm-hearted and informative musical with an important story to tell.
Bill Stephens – Australian Arts Review
‘Hello’ to a show of professional polish.
The attractive set of radio masts and telegraph wires, designed by Monique Langford, gives an instant atmosphere to this show with strong and creative direction by Jason Langley and appropriately energetic and quirky choreography by Amy Orman. The costumes, well-designed by Sarah Hordern, capture the World War I period but also reach forward with hints of present-day fashions.
Len Power - Canberra City News
Directed by Jason Langley, this musically outstanding Heart Strings Theatre Co production invites you to step back in time as we follow the brave women who chose to fight for their country despite not yet being allowed to vote.
Claira Prider – Theatre Thoughts
It is marvellous to experience a story of how important woman have been in our history and to acknowledge that they have not received the recognition they deserve.
Get to the Hayes to see this enjoyable, loud, passionate, and important musical theatre production.
Kym Vaitiekus - Broadway World
Directed by Jason Langley, along with choreography by Amy Orman, the narrative is conveyed with a theatrical exuberance and an appropriate sense of urgency…portions of the show certainly resonate in meaningful and contemporaneously relevant ways.
Suzy Wrong - Suzy Goes See
An extraordinary night out for audiences.
Natalie Capra – On The House
Truly powerful and inspirational.
